Bilder Boutique Hotel

La Palma next door was a real highlight. We had an excellent dinner there, and the lively cafe served excellent pinxtos. At the Bilder Hotel, our front-facing room was spacious and very clean. The reception team were friendly and helpful, and the location at the entrance to the Old Town made it easy to walk across the city and along the river to the Guggenheim. We really enjoyed our stay.

The hotel is stylish and sits in Casco Viejo, with Plaza Nueva just behind it. Taxis can get close but can't pull up right outside. There are several floors, with both stairs and a lift, plus a very quiet lounge on the first floor. The restaurant also serves breakfast, made fresh from a menu where you choose one or two items. The lobby is small, and reception hours are limited, so they ask you to share your arrival time to arrange check-in. Our room and bathroom were very spacious, simply but stylishly done. Still, the room felt dark, with just one small window, and the dust was visible floating in the light. Tea and coffee facilities were provided, but the coffee was instant, which isn't really for us. Shower soap was there, but no body lotion or shampoo. For those reasons, the price seemed a little high.

The front desk staff at Bilder Hotel were so considerate. Our room didn't have a fridge, so I asked if they could keep my lactose-free milk. They agreed, then brought it out each morning and evening when I needed it. That small favor made a big difference and made us feel looked after. We stayed two nights and were impressed by the value as well as the Old Town location, with everything a short walk away. Thank you to the team at Bilder Hotel for such thoughtful hospitality.

We had a lovely balcony view, and the front desk service was great. They also kept our bags for the day and shared recommendations for exploring the city. The location was great, and we really enjoyed our stay.
