For six nights it felt like very fair value. The hotel is modern, nicely decorated and well located. In England or Italy, I don't think you'd get somewhere this well decorated at this price. We could walk to pretty much anywhere we wanted in 15-20 minutes, which is just right, especially after a big meal when you want to walk it off. There are also lots of supermarkets close by, including a few less than five minutes away, handy for drinks and snacks before a siesta. We heard a bit of outside noise on one or two nights, but it wasn't a problem. It's a city and people are enjoying themselves. Apart from that, it was extremely quiet. My one complaint: our room had no privacy sign for the door to let the cleaners know it was occupied. They start early, so we felt some pressure to be up and out each morning. Near the end of our trip we noticed another room had a sign, and realized we probably could have asked reception for one.

A lovely, calm and clean hotel. I think every hotel bedroom should have a balcony these days, though I understand some of theirs might have one and mine didn't. I also wasn't sure about the rest of the facilities, and reception isn't open around the clock.

BYPILLOW Irala is fine for a night, but at €160 a night I didn't think it was worth the cost. For that price I'd expect better comfort and service. You can leave your luggage in lockers when you arrive, which is handy if the room isn't ready, but reception's strange hours make check-in and even basic questions inconvenient.

The room was on the small side, though there was good space for luggage. It was clean, with good wifi, a kettle and a mini fridge, and the staff were very nice and courteous. You can walk to all the neighborhoods in about 15 minutes. The hotel is rather ring-fenced, and street sounds and noise from neighboring rooms carry clearly. That's normal for a city, especially on weekends.

We're planning to stay again. The receptionist was friendly, and though the boutique hotel is basic, I couldn't fault it. The bed and pillows were comfortable, the shower was spacious and as hot as you wanted, and the complimentary hot drinks and bedside water were a nice bonus.
