Casual Bilbao Mardones

The location is excellent, but the stay itself was a very bad experience. The room was extremely small, about 9 Metres square, very cold, and had no air conditioning. There was no radiator or heating in the bathroom, and the walls let through every sound from other rooms. Getting inside was really annoying too, since you have to enter the 4 digit number three separate times. Highly not recommended.

The price was good, but it wasn’t worth it. The bedroom was extremely small and cold, with just one radiator that was only slightly warm. There’s no air conditioning in any of the bedrooms. The bathroom had nowhere to hang towels, no radiator or heating, and was always very cold. Its door also wouldn’t open or close properly, so you had to push or pull hard. The walls aren’t soundproof, and you can hear everything from the other rooms. If you don’t want a cold stay in winter, look at other properties. BAD EXPERIENCE.

A great spot for a casual stay. The rooms were spotless and the facilities were great. It’s beside bars, so you might expect noise, but the windows block it out.

Bilbao itself is a gem, lively and charming without feeling too touristy. The streets, river, and Guggenheim Museum are all within walking distance. At Casual Mardones, we found friendly, attentive staff and a very clean hotel. The old town location made it easy to explore on foot. Our room was clean and comfortable, a little small but still cosy. We had a very enjoyable stay.
