Sercotel Arenal Bilbao

Spotlessly clean room, comfortable bed, and a good shower, though it's over a bath and may not suit everyone. The old town location was excellent, and reception staff were friendly. Breakfast was okay, but the only eggs were Spanish omelette. They offered a gluten-free roll and croissant. The first morning was great, but the roll was rubbery on the second, and on the third the staff said they'd forgotten to defrost it, so there'd be a wait. Sliced gluten-free bread, some of which is much better than those frozen white rolls, could be kept in the freezer and made into toast when needed. That would be easier for staff and more satisfying for guests. Still, I'd definitely stay here again if I return to Bilbao.

We had a perfect stay. The hotel is ideally placed for the old town, with a short walk over the bridge to the new town shops, and a lovely flat route along the river to Guggenheim or the local market and food hall. There's a taxi rank right outside for the trip back to the airport. The room was beautiful and clean, breakfast had lots of choice, and the staff were wonderfully friendly.

The room was very clean and had good facilities, and breakfast was good too. Staff were friendly and efficient. It's a great place to stay, with a bus stop, trams, and metro nearby, Gran Via within walking distance, and Plaza Nueva next door.

The location worked really well, and parking was manageable thanks to a garage very close by, even if it wasn't exactly easy. The room itself was one of the best we had on the trip: spacious, comfortable, clean, and equipped with everything. There was some street noise outside the window, not awful, but I slept better with earplugs.
