Beverly Park Hotel & Spa

There was hair in the shower, sink, and bed, plus a pee stain on the toilet seat when we arrived. The staff were rude and inconsiderate. The hotel was also sprayed with products that smelled so strange they gave me a migraine. Disgusting place, and nowhere near a 4-star hotel. It would be lucky to get even one star.

The pools were lovely, child-friendly, and never too crowded, and our room was nice. The spa was beautiful too. Food was a highlight: the breakfast had everything, with freshly made omelettes and pancakes among my favourites. Two lunch toasties were only €7, and cocktails and other drinks were cheap. We stayed half board, and the hotel was great value for money. It’s a stone’s throw from the beach and about a 20-minute walk to the main strip. We parked in the blue zone past the hotel for just €20 for the week. The negative reviews nearly put us off booking, but we’d highly recommend a stay.

The dinner buffet is spectacular and well worth it, and the breakfast spread is just as impressive. It has plenty for different dietary needs, though it really could use a decent sausage. That’s a shame in Catalunya, the home of butifarra. Rooms are clean and spacious, with USB sockets beside the regular plugs, and the upper floors have wide open views. Staff are great, but the hotel’s check-in policy requires an email, which feels like phishing at the corporate level. That’s why I’m giving it 4 stars. It’s at the quiet end of the beach, with a bracing 20-minute walk into town.

The rooms are splendid, and both the beds and service are top-notch. The friendly staff will help however they can. Dinner at the buffet offers more than you’d expect to find along the boulevard. At first I thought downtown would be a bit of a walk, but there’s plenty here: music, entertainment, campings, dance lessons, and Spain at its best. I found it a beautiful, client-friendly hotel and can’t understand the negative comments.
