Camping Solmar

The food is often really bad, especially the meat, and the dishes still had food left on them. The showers were full of hair. Everything was dirty, with rubbish left by previous guests, and some of the bed linen had stains. The water was full of chlorine.

It was so cold at night that I couldn't sleep, and there wasn't a heater. The place was dirty, and the blankets had hair on them and were dirty too. I didn't feel comfortable there.

The location is nice, with the beach very close, but pretty much everything else was a downside. We paid around 90€ a night for a car, tent, and four people, and it didn't feel worth it. They make you wear bracelets, which is the worst. At this price, you'd expect another way to tell who's staying at the campsite. Our lot was half wet, so finding somewhere to pitch the tent was a struggle. The toilets had no paper or soap, which might be expected at a campsite, but not at this price. There was noise from every direction at all hours, including nighttime, and the security staff were very unwelcoming. There is no proper place to wash clothes. They have four machines, only three working, for more than 200 people, so the queues never end. It costs 4€, and card payment doesn't work even though they advertise it.

You can walk to the shops and the beach from here, and the location is good. Most shops close around 2 P.M. and reopen at about 5 P.M., so plan around that. The fireworks at the end of July are lovely to watch from the beach. In summer the campsite gets busy, with lots of kids and younger people making noise at night. Security is scarce, so lock everything up when you go out. The camping itself is decent, and the pitches for mobile homes or caravans are big enough. The bathroom and shower facilities need a major upgrade: half the toilets have no seat or toilet paper, and many of the doors or locks are broken. At least there's always warm water, though in summer, when it can reach 36 °C, you may not need it. Service at the pool restaurant was terrible. We waited ten minutes when it wasn't very busy, and the bar staff were mostly chatting and laughing with each other. I asked twice if I could order and got no answer.
