Villa Del Pi

We had a lovely time with family in a quiet mountain area, and the house has what you need for a summer stay. The pool is looked after well, though it isn't heated. There's parking for two cars on the property, which was useful, and the two bedrooms on each floor share a bathroom. The pool area has a parasol, but the artificial turf by the pool and in the yard near the brick barbecue badly needs replacing. Be aware that getting around on foot is difficult. You have to manage a steep staircase or driveway to reach the house, so it would be very hard for elderly people or anyone with mobility problems. A car is essential. A bus passes a few times a day, but walking up and down the steep road with shopping is impractical. Aldi and Consum are across the road at the bottom of the hill. The house is showing its age, though the furnishings are reasonably well kept. They're very rustic and seem to be from the 1970s, including worn oilcloth tablecloths, old sofa cushions and covers. There are no outdoor cushions or pads for the loungers. The beds felt like camp beds and were very uncomfortable, and the closet had threadbare wool blankets. The spiral staircase to the upper floor is a bit dangerous. The photos are seriously misleading about the living room opening straight onto the pool. There's a window there now, if it was ever open before, since on closer inspection it looks as though it may have been photoshopped. To reach the pool, you have to go around to the right and cross the terrace using two uneven steps. One practical detail: you have to collect the keys from the agency LL Franc Villas in Lloret de Mar. It's about a 20-minute drive from the house, parking at the door isn't available, and their opening hours are limited. I'll review the agency separately.
