The set dinner menu was delicious, and the staff couldn't have been nicer. This beautiful boutique hotel sits in the mountains north of Alicante. Our room had just been renovated and looked very chic.

We were there for four days in September 2025 and really wished we could have stayed four weeks. The fresh, homemade meals were lovely, and the rooms were exquisite. It’s such a peaceful place to restore the senses. Sonia, Thorsten and the whole team were kind, genuine and friendly. A place like this almost feels like it should stay secret, but we wanted to thank them with this review.

The views are insane, and the food is Michelin-level. The service was even better. The owner is based, and I’d recommend the place to everyone. The drive there is a little rough, but it’s part of the experience and easy enough if you can drive, to be honest.

We paid €250 for a Superior Room that stayed empty, and Finca El Tossal would not refund even half. We booked for February 13-14, at €250 a night, but the dates were somehow entered as February 12-13. I understand that mistakes happen. What disappointed me was how the hotel dealt with it. Before the stay, I never received a proper reminder. They said an automatic email had gone out, but we only learned there was a problem when it was too late. We also had no luck getting a dinner table for February 13. I emailed ahead, got no confirmation, then wrote again to check they’d received it. At 21:59, nearly 10 PM, they replied that they couldn’t find my name or email and couldn’t book a table without a room reservation. The room had been booked a month earlier using that same email address. I immediately sent my full name and booking number. Only then did they find the reservation and tell us it was for the previous night. They had confirmed our arrival time for 15:00, yet never contacted us or asked anything when we didn’t arrive the day before. The room sat empty all night. Still, they refused a partial refund, credit, or even a goodwill gesture. They couldn’t locate an existing booking, didn’t properly answer the dinner emails, and replied late at night. For a premium boutique countryside hotel, this felt incredibly cold and unprofessional. I was completely disappointed. Hospitality should mean helping guests, not hiding behind policies when it suits you.
