Hospital del Temple Casa Rural

We couldn't get hold of the owner when we needed basic things like napkins, paper towels, a cloth for the table, and more toilet paper. For four days there were only two rolls. The floor had hairs from previous guests, especially in the bathroom, so we wore slippers all day. We also found frozen meat in the freezer. The place is old, and the rushed renovation shows. It's very small for the price, with tiny bathrooms, and anyone tall will struggle in the upstairs shower. In the main bedroom, adding a single bed meant the door couldn't open all the way. Parking nearby wasn't possible because the dead-end street was blocked by a bar's tables. The air conditioning set to 18°C kept things okay, but luckily there wasn't a heat wave.

The house could be a decent little place if the problems were actually fixed. The upstairs shower has reportedly failed to drain for at least a year, sending water down the stairs, and the holder in the downstairs shower is broken too. The headboard bangs against the wall whenever someone moves, which wakes everyone. The listing mentions a kettle, crib, grocery service, and coffee maker, but what was there didn't fully match that, and the supposed coffee maker was an aerator. We were four, yet the sofa bed only seated three, so someone had to use a dining chair to watch TV. Cooking was difficult with so few utensils, and the vinegar had dead flies in it. There wasn't much to do nearby, and during our three-day stay the place smelled of manure the whole time.

The house felt thoughtfully designed and had what we needed for a family stay. We had a lovely weekend there, and when the TV antenna caused trouble, the owner came over right away to sort it out. Her hospitality was excellent.

The landlady was lovely and attentive before we paid, but afterward she stopped answering or returning calls. We also weren't told about the fairly strict house rules, and I've attached a photo so nobody accidentally leaves without following them. The place is cramped, reached by narrow stairs, and has just two bedrooms plus a rather uncomfortable sofa bed. Payment is required in advance. When the fuses blew, the electricity was very weak, and nobody came to check what had gone wrong. We went a whole day without TV or hot water. It was a bad experience.
