Camping Terra Alta

The WiFi was useless and unsecured, so we relied on our phones for even basic internet. Arriving was chaotic: there was no obvious place to pull in and check in, and we waited half an hour for a spot without a gravel slope while other vans tried to move around too. We had explained two days beforehand by email that our old campervan couldn't manage gravel or slopes, and were offered a pitch with branches that damaged the roof. The service area sits down a steep gravel slope, so it seemed usable only with a 4WD. We had also confirmed an off-season price of €27 for two people, a van, and electricity, but were charged €31 for one night.

The restaurant food was very good. I had the BBQ lamb, cooked just right, and the chef was really kind. Both receptionists and the rest of the staff were friendly and keen to help with requests. Our bungalow was clean and comfortable for our three-night stay, with free parking just behind it. The area is beautiful and quiet, and the town felt very safe, with friendly residents.

The Via Verde is accessible from the top of the campsite, and 4.5 km farther on there's a natural swimming spot. The site itself is lovely, ringed by mountains, with a pool and restaurant. The toilet facilities were good, though they get a bit warm in summer; a cold shower helps. The people were friendly and WiFi was free.

Even after we spent €169 on lunch in the hot weather, above 34°C, my 3-year-old son and I were told to leave the pool in front of the restaurant terrace because we weren't staying at the campsite. The restaurant staff were very rough with us.
