The staff were incredibly welcoming. With no taxis available, they even gave me a ride to the train station. This truly unique hotel also has a refreshing plunge pool looking out onto its rustic exterior, and some nice shared areas where you can rest in the shade. The village is small and perfect for slowing down, having a drink in the plaza, and trying authentic Spanish food and wine at one of its three restaurants.

Brinas is such a gem, especially if you have a dog, with great walks nearby and a beautiful river running through it. The two restaurants on the village square are excellent, and for a fancy drink on a terrace by the river, you can always head to the Palacio. We found this lovely place in the heart of Rioja country and got a wonderful welcome. I’d return in a heartbeat!

We’re vegan, which can make travel a bit of a nightmare, but Ricardo made us the most delicious vegan meal. Dining at the hotel needs to be arranged in advance. The welcome and care were wonderful from the moment Ricardo received us until we left. Breakfast was fantastic, and this beautifully put-together boutique hotel had everything I could have wished for. I’d give it six stars if I could. Thank you, especially Ricardo.

We were traveling with young children, and the staff gave us lots of baby milk bottles for free. They’re just really nice people, with hospitable Angela in charge and the funny Richardo on night bar duty. Great service at the generous bar, and the breakfasts were great too. The eclectic rooms and all their individual charm made this a fantastic experience in a beautiful place. The village has what you need, and a pleasant 3 km river walk takes you to the much larger nearby town of Haro. Rioja is stunning, with many beautiful villages and lots of great restaurants. Highly recommended. We’ll be back next year.
