Hotel Restaurante El Valles 4 ESTRELLAS

Spain is beautiful, and the people are great, except at one place: EL Valles **** RESTAURANT, the worst place in Spain. On 18/08/2025 my wife and I stayed in room no. 237. The room was clean, the bed was great, and the man at reception was nice. The HOTEL was great. That evening we ate at the restaurant. The service was unpleasant, and they didn't know any English. The food was awful. I ordered "lamb ribs" and, as you can see in the photo, got lamb bones with nothing on them, warmed in a frying pan with oil dripping off. Disgusting! Breakfast was served until 10:00, but when we came to the dining room at 9:45, it had already been cleaned and shut down. The restaurant's attitude was disgusting and thieving. They rob their customers. The worst place in Spain.

It's a clean hotel that's easy to find, and I'd recommend it as a lovely place to stay. Everyone was very friendly, and the restaurant was great with lots to choose from at breakfast. It's also pet friendly and ideally placed for getting to Bilbao port.

We had a very pleasant stay. The hotel felt cozy and was well suited to people traveling with pets, though we did have to pay extra for our animals. The room service was top-notch, and the restaurant's menu was delicious. My only criticism is that the breakfast choices were somewhat limited, but the extra pet charge was worth it.

We picked this hotel because it was conveniently on our route from Portugal to France. It's close to the highway, but we didn't hear road noise. The rooms were updated, well maintained, and clean. What let it down was the breakfast, which was VERY lacking for a 4 star hotel. There was much less than I've had at other hotels with the same rating, which was disappointing at 10€ per person. Otherwise, it was a very nice hotel.
