AC Hotel Burgos by Marriott

The AC Hotel Burgos turned out to suit us really well, even though the price was painfully high. We had to book two rooms at the last minute after our other lodging fell through, and spent a stressful hour looking for somewhere. Last-minute bookings in Europe can cost a ridiculous amount, and the so-called family price still meant an extra 50 Euros since we had no kids with us. If money is tight, plan carefully or stay elsewhere. If you can afford it, I recommend the place. The hotel let us use its garage for free after I complained about the no-children markup, and we could leave the rental car there during the day while exploring town. The building seemed to be an elegant old one gutted inside around a five-floor triangular central core. Rooms were sleek, modern and comfortable, with tall street-facing windows. Mine had a fancy oxidized green railing around a tiny terrace that wasn't usable. There was a minibar, hair conditioner and all the comforts we needed, plus very reliable Wi-Fi. A place down the street was recommended for delicious pizza. While we had pizza and beers, the busy sidewalks looked full of students from the nearby university, making the area lively, even exciting. The next day we found Burgos Cathedral was only a short block or two from the hotel, near where we'd originally planned to stay.
