The owner answered questions quickly through the messaging service here, and the apartment had everything needed for cooking. Entry to the room uses a rather unusual combination of an access code and lift. From the flat, the view across the square is impressive, and the windows block the noise from people eating and drinking. The square closes at 11 pm, and everyone heads home, which feels very civilised compared with a UK venue. I parked under Plaza Mayor de Burgos, about 100 metres away. I stayed just one night, but it would be easy to spend several comfortable, luxurious days here. Burgos has plenty to see, and the apartment is right in the center of town. Thoroughly recommend this upmarket stay.

The location in the old town is great, and the apartment itself was fine, but there was a smell in both the flat and the entrance lobby. I first wondered if it came from the cleaner's products, though it could be a sewer smell. An earlier review from last year mentioned the same thing, and it seems to have come back. It needs attention soon. We also asked for a 30-minute late checkout, but the owners would only allow two hours for €20, so we had no choice but to accept and pay in advance. I'd recommend the place only if the smell is fixed.

The apartment was very comfortable and in an excellent location. The real downside was the strong insecticide smell in the shared areas and stairwell. It wasn't inside the apartment, but walking out to the entrance and back in was very unpleasant and really brought down the stay. Once that's addressed, I'd recommend it.
