Hostel Trovadores

We were a family of four and had a room to ourselves with two bunk beds. The bedding was comfortable, everything was clean, and towels were provided. The receptionist was polite and helpful, and there’s a common room for meals. It’s about a 20-minute walk to the city center, and very good value.

The room was so cold it felt like a refrigerator. The heat was barely on, then switched off overnight. For the price the accommodation was decent, though it was basic and about 20 minutes from Burgos center.

It’s a fairly new or renovated hostel and looks quite nice, but there was dirt in the bathroom and on the mattress. Walking to the center takes around 25 minutes. At night they switched the heat off after leaving it on its lowest setting, and we were freezing. That was a real nuisance.

We found the shared spaces really handy, with two fridges, microwaves, toasters, plastic dishes, a coffee maker, and a kettle. Bring your own groceries and coffee, though, since there aren’t any local shops. The whole place was clean, including the room, common areas, bathrooms, and showers, and towels were provided. The four of us fit in a small room well enough for one night on our family trip to Portugal. We got a warm welcome at Trovadores Hotel, and it worked well as a stop on a long drive. There’s Wi-Fi, easy parking outside, and the area felt quiet and secure. We felt safe even on nearby streets. There’s no air conditioning, but the fan above the door worked well. A pleasant, relaxing stop, and I’d recommend it without hesitation.
