Hotel Jacobeo

For my Camino de Santiago trip, Hotel Jacobeo in Burgos was a pleasant place to stop. It’s well priced and right in the historic center, close to shops and restaurants, so getting around to explore was easy. The reception staff made it feel welcoming and were friendly and helpful. The room was reasonably comfortable, and the location and price together made it good value. Recommended for pilgrims wanting a restful stop in the heart of Burgos.

The dining room interior is classy and understated. My business room was very small, but the shower had hot water and the door locked twice. The staff were very nice and helpful. It could use a minor makeover, but it’ll do for a quick stay or a night on the Camino when you don’t want somewhere municipal.

We could hear everything through the walls. Someone brushing their teeth, talking, coughing all night, and cleaners shouting at the top of their lungs in the morning. There’s barely any wall insulation, and it made it impossible to sleep. Thanks for ruining our two-night stay in Burgos. If you want your trip spoiled, choose this hotel.

I paid 110 euros for a 10m2 basement room with no windows. There was just an opening in the wall straight onto the dining room, so people having breakfast woke me at 8am. The corridor was noisy too. This is unacceptable. What a shame!
