Hotel Silken Gran Teatro Burgos

We changed rooms after a cold, noisy first night in January 2026. The street-facing room let in street and neighboring-room noise, the bed rolled when we sat on it, the sink was cracked and crudely glued, and the shower seal let water across the bathroom floor. The courtyard room was warmer, but noise from neighboring rooms was still audible. Its fittings also seemed poorly maintained: an unstable bench pulling away from the wall, loose hand gel holders, patched tiles, badly fixed spotlight trims and a telephone that didn't work. The room hadn't been cleaned properly either. We found a paracetamol wrapper, a purple feather and hair on the floor. I chose the hotel for a weekend visit to Burgos because of its location, its recent construction and its good Google rating. Apart from the location, the stay was very disappointing. For a recent hotel, it felt like the owners had chosen low-cost materials and paid little attention to maintenance. I wouldn't recommend it.

We only stopped for one night, and they upgraded us to a superior room. The receptionist was really friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was worth the extra €17, with a good choice of food. Our bedroom was lovely and quiet at night, and the hotel is just outside the center. A really enjoyable stay.

I felt the hotel treated Asians in an extremely racist way. This was my first time being asked for a passport at check-in, and our group of 60 also had to fill out forms with personal details like home addresses, emails and phone numbers. I noticed white guests weren't given the same procedure by the receptionist. They also kept our passports for the whole stay, even though a passport is valuable identification for travelers staying abroad. If you're not white, please find another hotel, because what happened to me might happen to you.
