The reception shuts at 8 pm, and nobody tells you in advance. The woman there was nice, but a man present didn’t even know how to say hello. Then you have to haul yourself up narrow stairs to the third floor, past the Rococo decor, to reach a tiny room they call a bedroom. The renovated bathroom drains terribly, leaving you showering in a puddle with hair from half of Cantabria in it. The water seems to come from who-knows-where, and the whole bathroom floods. I’d read that there was parking, but there’s no sign or information pointing it out. IT'S NOT WORTH IT. Take my word for it and go somewhere else.

At 40 euros a night it was cheap, with shared bathrooms. I was given a room at the very top under the roof, and there’s no elevator. The weather happened to be nice, but the room was so hot I couldn’t sleep.

For one night, the guesthouse was fine. Our small rooms were clean, the bathrooms had been recently renovated, and the location is central. There’s a small private parking area, though whether you find a space depends on how full it is. Be ready to use the stairs since there’s no elevator. What soured things was the poor service from a man who was meant to be managing a place where customer care matters. A much friendlier woman helped us later and eased the bad first impression.

The bathroom was filthy, with no basic shower curtain, and everywhere you looked it was clear they hadn’t mopped for days. The room was tiny and dirty too, barely big enough to open our suitcase. It was on the third floor, and those stairs were quite something. It even looked like an old dovecote. I can’t prove that, but I have no doubt. We didn’t stay the night. Better not to even talk about the bathroom.
