The grounds are lovely, and the place looked promising, but apartment 4 was a letdown. It was worn and old, though we understood that new furniture might not make sense in a pet-friendly place. We had our dogs with us and stayed four nights, paying about €530, if I remember right, including €120 for them. We only needed a few practical things: a usable brush, floor cleaner for muddy paw prints, and another towel to dry the dogs. The starter supplies were just a cloth, a tiny bottle of dish soap, and one trash bag. We were there several days, so we needed more of those, and at least a little shower gel. The shower dispenser was empty. We messaged the person said to be responsible for the facilities and got no reply, which made this feel like more than a simple mistake about how much to leave. There were cobwebs all over, and the bed was harder than granite. The TV kept losing its connection every few seconds. For the sofa, they provided only a blanket and an uncovered pillow, so whoever slept there would share the sweat and dirt left by everyone who had used it.

Sonia deserves the star here. She does what she can to help guests feel comfortable. The apartment itself is a disaster: cobwebs everywhere, shaky closets with doors that won't shut and look ready to fall apart, and a tiny fridge that can't fit much, despite the place supposedly sleeping six. We'd have left on day one if we hadn't paid ahead. Instead, we're sticking it out until checkout on the 10th. We'll contact Booking.com and ask whether they properly check the apartments they list. We know we won't return. Mr. Owner, if you're going to rent a property, put money into restoring it first. These conditions are shameful.

The Cabuerniga area is beautiful, and the house surroundings are lovely, which makes it a shame that the owners don't invest in the business. I stayed in Apartment 2, and it felt neglected, old, and dirty. The garden was overgrown, and there was no lighting in the common areas at night on five of the six days we were there. The bathroom was awful and smelled terrible. The toilet was tilted into a corner, and a large person couldn't use it. We told Sonia on the first day. She's lovely and tried to fix the smell, but couldn't.

The village is lovely, with bars, restaurants, and a couple of small supermarkets. The A-8 is very close, so getting around is quick. I'd skip the nearby beach: it's small, crowded like the other beaches, pebbly, hard to park at, and two kilometres from the village with no walking path. Better to drive to another one. The apartments are new, with two roomy bedrooms and two full, spacious shower bathrooms. The kitchenware is basic, though there's a dishwasher, microwave, oven, and Dolce Gusto coffee machine. Parking is covered, with generous, easy spaces. My only gripe inside was the very weak air conditioning. It was barely noticeable, and Asturias can get hot too.

We felt very safe thanks to the attentive service and excellent COVID protocols. The apartments are beautifully decorated, have everything needed, and sit in a stunning location. There are only two hotels for bars or restaurants, and without a car there's no grocery store. Those small inconveniences didn't take away from the stay. We're already making plans to come back. Congratulations!
