Arrels Hotel Cadaques

I was worried about the walk from Les Arrels into town, but the host pointed out an easy route when we arrived. It worked so well that my husband and I never drove in, we just walked. We loved our stay. The room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfasts were incredible.

Breakfast was such a nice start to the day, fresh and thoughtfully made, with an incredible view. The panoramic scenery from Les Arrels Hotel Cadaqués is hard to forget. We also loved the rooftop bar, especially having a sunset drink with the calm landscape and a great singer. The whole place feels warm and welcoming, with an easy elegance. It was a peaceful retreat, and we'll definitely come back. Highly recommend it if you're visiting Cadaqués 🩵

That view when you arrive is spectacular, probably the best from a hotel in Cadaques. Our friends treated us to a few days here and had stayed at Les Arrels before. It's perched high above town, so you'd need to drive or be ready for the hills and steps. That didn't bother us, though the steps inside our room felt a little treacherous at night. The room was adequate. Having the shower in it made things very hot, and the air con didn't really help. The shower itself was good, and the beds were comfortable, if a bit hard for my taste. Breakfast was very good, with some of the best homemade cakes and delicious fresh-squeezed orange juice. It was filling enough that lunch wasn't needed. The family team are welcoming, but sometimes I felt as if I was asking too much when I requested another coffee or a small change. We didn't always feel fully welcome. Still, I'd recommend this hotel to anyone after those views of Cadaques.

The view from the top of Cadaqués is the standout, with the whole town center spread out below. Breakfast was wonderful, the service was great, and the family really tries to meet requests. The room itself is basic, with no tea or coffee, and the TV only has Spanish channels, which isn't useful for guests who don't speak Spanish. There was no wifi in the room either, so if you don't understand the TV, you'll need another way to pass the evening. I tried looking at the view for a while, then got bored. A book would've helped. Luckily I go to sleep early, around 7.30pm, so the night wasn't too long. Wifi would make the hotel much more appealing to the average tourist.
