This small square sits right in the historic center of Cádiz, where four old streets meet: Cervantes, San Miguel, Benjumeda, and the narrow Cuna Vieja. It’s a handy meeting spot and a route for pedestrians. The name honors Captain Gaspar del Pino, a major landowner whose properties were in the area; the square has carried it since the 18th century. It briefly became Mayer Square in 1855, in honor of Captain and political writer Salvador José Manuel, but people and the official street directory soon returned to the traditional name.
