Hotel de Francia y París

The central location is very convenient, and the room was spacious and clean. But the Wi-Fi barely worked, which was really frustrating. There was only a kettle for heating water for tea, no coffee machine, and the refrigerator had a strong, unpleasant smell that made it seem like it needed a proper cleaning. The hotel falls short of high standards, so I wouldn't give it more than three stars.

The location is hard to beat, and the rooms are comfortable, a good size, and soundproof enough that you don't hear the square at night if you turn in early. I could sleep there, but the service and upkeep really let the place down. Staff often seemed disinterested or close to rude, and one woman spent much of the time on her phone. People appeared to come and go without being checked, and housekeeping sometimes left dirty cups and used items behind. The decor is dated, too. Breakfast wasn't worth paying for, especially with better cafes nearby. Great spot and decent rooms, but the service needs serious work.

Good location and a nice hotel, but it was so hot in my room I could barely sleep. They told me the AC hadn't been switched on yet.

Breakfast was just okay, and for what I paid, it didn't feel like good value. They don't provide sleepers in the rooms.
