Hotel Atolon & Kaafu Beach Club

The reception and pool sunbathing area were lovely, and the beach is just a five-minute walk away. Breakfast was only okay, and the food was lukewarm. Two coffee machines served cold coffee that didn't taste great, with a queue of about five minutes for each cup. We ended up buying a gorgeous breakfast at Stanleys, the English restaurant across the road. There wasn't entertainment at the hotel either, so we walked 15 minutes each night to other hotels for a show. The brochure made the place look beautiful, with sea views, but we arrived to find only about 10 rooms with that view, available for an extra €64 a night. I was also surprised that our actual room was in a separate complex across the street. It was very small, with no tea or coffee facilities or ironing equipment. The tiny balcony looked onto the street and the hotel opposite, and nights were noisy. The pool was 15 metres and smaller than the brochure suggested. I'm sorry, but I won't return to the Atolon. The brochure was misleading and put a bit of a damper on our holiday. There are lots of beautiful hotels in Cala Bona with great entertainment and views, so it's worth checking them out.

We were very happy with our stay. The hotel's well placed in town, close to the sea, and the staff were kind and helpful. There's a gym, which is a nice extra. Spending the day by the pool is especially enjoyable with the sea view. Breakfast had lots of variety and something for everyone. The hotel faces east, so I'd recommend getting up early to see the sunrise over the sea. It was spectacular for us.

The pool is small, but you can swim in the sea, and the pool area has excellent sea views. We also hired paddle boards for an hour, which was fun, and being able to get drinks at the beach club during the day was good. This is one of the nicer hotels nearby, though smaller than most. We stayed across the road and liked the quiet. The basic room was fine for two, and I'm glad we didn't pay extra for a sea view, since the nearby beach club and strip could make it noisy. It was cleaned every day, reasonably well but not perfectly. Breakfast was poor, with limited options, and we didn't have dinner there.

The views and location are hard to beat, and the food was genuinely good, with different dishes each day to keep dinner interesting. The staff were so friendly, especially the waiters and chefs, and the cleaning ladies were lovely too. I stayed at Hotel Atolon in Cala Bona, Mallorca, and had such a good vibe there. The drinks at dinner cost extra, which was a bit annoying. Our room could have been cleaner, and the cleaners usually came fairly late in the day. Still, I thought it was worth it for the views, food and friendly staff.
