Hotel Cala d'or Playa

The splash park kept our three-year-old happily busy all day, and there’s a lovely pool area for little kids. The staff were great, especially the restaurant and bar teams. The hotel sits in a peaceful spot on the edge of Cala D’Or, with the resort centre a short walk away. Two beautiful beaches are about 5-10 minutes on foot. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Karolina was brilliant with the kids, and the breakfast team and Jose were always attentive, friendly, and smiling. We had a great time here. The evening meal was excellent, the cocktails were tasty, and breakfast had a fantastic range of choices. The rooms were modern and very clean, and the pool was a good size. It’s a very child-friendly hotel, with entertainment for them throughout the stay.

The surroundings right outside the hotel were dirty and run down, with litter, broken paving slabs, and pet or animal waste. The hotel itself had a relaxed atmosphere and very good service that never felt overbearing. Its location is a reasonable distance from amenities. For families, it’s a safe choice for children of different ages, though probably less suited to teenagers since the activities, location, and facilities are aimed more at younger kids. The rooms were clean and spacious for an aparthotel, with a good mix of self-catering facilities and food and drink options during the day and evening.

The staff made a big impression on us. Jose and Isa, if I have her name right, were attentive, friendly, and always ready to help. Charles and the other entertainers spent so much time playing with the children and made their holiday special. We also appreciated having a lifeguard by the pool. Attentiveness varied, but the two female lifeguards were excellent. We could keep an eye on all four of our kids, whether they were in the pool or playing nearby. The slides were a hit, and the hotel was tidy, well presented, and had excellent amenities. The floor around the pool could get slippery. The hotel tried to manage it, but it’s something to watch if children are running around. Our pool shoes helped a lot. I’d read that drinks were expensive, but that didn’t match our experience. A pint cost around £4.10 and a bottle of wine about £20, roughly what we’d pay back home. We had a fantastic stay at Cala D’Or Playa Apartments and would happily recommend it and return.
