The place itself is clean, with a decent-sized pool and shower on the rear terrace. Cala Galdana is stunning, and there are useful amenities nearby. The walk to the beach goes down steep steps through a shady wood, about 500m. We’re a week into our stay, and the unusual heat has been hard to manage: around 33°C in the day and 23°C at night. There’s no air-con, and the fans haven’t been enough, even with the windows open and shutters closed. We’ve struggled to acclimatise. The apartment is one of six, built on a steep ravine, with the front at road level. It was tidy when we arrived, and each bedroom has a ceiling fan, with another in the living area. We contacted the owners by email. They were helpful when they replied, and sent an extra fan and a few other things we needed. More on that later. For a self-catering place, the kitchen is short on basics: no cleaning products, dishcloths, scourers, dustpan and brush, chopping board, scissors or draining board, and just two tea towels. There are good knives but no sharpener. The pans, crockery and cutlery are good. There’s a dishwasher, though we still haven’t established whether it washes dishes properly. The kettle trips the main fuse. We reported it, but nothing has been done yet, so we’re boiling water on the hob. The fridge is tiny and doesn’t work properly, like the barely-cool ones I remember from childhood holidays in Spain. There’s no good reason a larger, more efficient fridge and freezer couldn’t be fitted, with ventilation outside to help it cool. Housekeeping has come once since we arrived. We weren’t told it would, and don’t know whether they’ll return. There are no spare pool or beach towels, which we’ve had in most other places we’ve stayed. The WiFi is good across the apartment, though it drops around the pool. The TV seems old and has no smart features. That’s not a huge issue, but for the price I expected streaming in 2022. We’re still having a nice holiday, and I’ve tried to be fair, but this could be so much easier and more enjoyable if these things were sorted. I don’t see us coming back here, though we’d definitely return to Menorca. We’d look for somewhere better equipped.

Good value for money, with a convenient independent check-in and check-out. Customer service was excellent and quick to respond, and there’s parking in front of the property. It’s about 500 metres from Cala Galdana, with its beautiful sea and well-equipped beach, plus a minimarket and restaurants close by. I stayed five days in apartment number 6, a furnished ground-floor two-room place with a living room and kitchenette, double bedroom, bathroom and balcony overlooking the pool. The building isn’t new, but it’s well maintained. The kitchen has the dishes you need for a holiday, though naturally it’s not equipped like a home. There’s a toaster, coffee maker, kettle, two microwaves, dishwasher and washing machine. A sponge, washing-up liquid and dishcloth were provided. The bed and bath linens were in good condition and new, and they also supplied a beach towel. There’s no air conditioning. We were there in milder weather, so it wasn’t an issue, but it would have been otherwise. The bedroom and living room windows face the stairs to the pool, so they can’t really be left open without losing privacy. The bathroom window also looks onto the corridor used to reach the other apartments.

I won’t be staying here again. The apartment itself is fine, but for the price there were too many problems. The shower leaked from beneath the tray as soon as we used it, so we had to scrub the floor after every shower. The toilet bowl was dirty when we arrived, and so were the dishes, especially the glasses. They said the marks on the glasses were limescale, but that wasn’t the case. The bedspread was dirty too. They brought a replacement, but we didn’t like it. The patio door was loose and its handle was in bad shape. There were also a few small chips in the drawers and the TV stand had come off its hinges. I wouldn’t come back.

The pool was freezing, and the 35-litre water heater for four people was ridiculous. The apartment is spacious and fairly well located, but it was completely unsuitable for an autumn stay. It was very cold, with no heating or way to dry clothes. The single-glazed French doors barely shut. It was badly equipped too. There was only a tiny clothesline, enough for a few pairs of socks, despite being at a seaside resort where you’d expect to swim and shower. There was a washing machine but no proper drying option or outdoor line. The dishwasher wouldn’t stay open, the oven had no power and was useless, and the extractor hood didn’t work. There were so few dishes and utensils that we had to wash them after every use. The parking space was too narrow for even a slightly wider car. The toilets and showers had no privacy at all, open directly to the bedrooms. In short, spacious and fairly well located, but otherwise ZERO. AVOID!

There’s a nice terrace, and the apartment is a good size in a convenient location. But it’s unusually hot, the kitchenware is limited and there are no tablecloths. The bathrooms have no privacy.
