We only ate here. Service was mediocre, and quite a few menu items weren’t available. We passed on the €25 menu del dia for three courses, but saw the next table send back their patatas bravas. If even those aren’t right, it doesn’t inspire much confidence.

We made the most of the little outdoor pool, which was a lovely surprise, and had a relaxing three-night stay. Our spacious, clean room had a private balcony and, for me, a very comfortable bed. Hotel Del Sitjar is right in the atmospheric old centre of Calaceite, and the tasteful decor has plenty of spots to sit back and relax. The staff were friendly and efficient, especially Miguel and Lina, who made us feel welcome and were wonderful hosts. Miguel is also a fantastic, inventive chef. We followed his recommendations and loved the patatas bravas, hamburgers, and fresh, light Ceviche. We’ll definitely come back for another peaceful break. Highly recommend.

We kept ordering the burgers during our four nights, both the meat and vegan versions. Absolutely delicious. A charming, clean village hotel right on the town square, with friendly, helpful staff and lots of thoughtful details.

The garage was a welcome place to store our motorcycles, and Cristian made a lovely gesture for us. We’ll definitely return to Hotel Sijar. It’s the kind of small, family-run place where you’re greeted with a sincere smile and personal care, not an impersonal counter or uniformed receptionists. Anyone who expects a team of 50 to be available all day and night might be happier at a huge coastal hotel in August. Some reviews complain about the nearby church bells, but to us they were a warm reminder that we were in a historic village with a sense of soul, away from city noise. Parking is also shaped by the rural setting and its narrow streets. There are nearby parking areas, and walking a few meters over the cobbles was part of the pleasure for us. We spent a few unforgettable days in this charming rural spot, a lovely place to step away from the rush and reconnect with something authentic. The care showed in the decor, the spotless rooms, and the warm, friendly service. We felt at home, or even better, in a dream home. If you want a place with character and thoughtful little touches, Hotel Sijar is a good fit.
