Hotel Apartamentos Solimar

The weekend was hectic, with loads of children taking over the pool area, but things were calm and quiet during the week. Our room was clean and had a nice balcony overlooking the pool. We booked half board, and dinner offered plenty of choice, including some tasty dishes. A few meat options weren't great and the desserts weren't the best, which is why I'm giving it four stars. Breakfast was nice. There are two pools, a snack bar, and a buffet restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I had a really nice stay.

Our flight was canceled, and the airline quickly arranged one night at Hotel Apartamentos Solimar for my family. Getting back to the airport the next morning wasn't easy, and the hotel isn't very close to it, but the team arranged rooms quickly for around 40 to 50 people from our flight and took care of a ride back for us. The rooms were modest but clean, and we felt looked after on a stressful night. We can't thank the hotel team enough.

The beach was just a minute away, and we really liked having a stove and microwave in the room for cooking things for the boys. We stayed a week on half board, with buffet breakfast and dinner. There was plenty to choose from and the food was good. Our premium terrace room was lovely, with a huge terrace overlooking the pools and evening entertainment. The hotel itself felt like a solid three-star place, with friendly, helpful staff. The daily room cleaning was especially good, very clean and thorough. The boys made good use of the pools and both playgrounds. The kids' club and evening activities were aimed more at Spanish children, but ours still enjoyed them. The shows were fun, and the bar drinks were good. It would've been nice to have a lunchtime snack menu, though it wasn't a big issue since we could pop to the supermarket around the corner. We travelled with my parents, and the hotel lent my dad a wheelchair for the whole week, which was great service. Booking directly by email was easy and it was great value. We had a great holiday and I'd recommend it to families looking for a pool and beach break.

We had a wonderful stay until checkout. While I was carrying my personal bag to the car during our family holiday, a staff member ran after me, shouting that I had to pay. I had heavy bags in my hands and explained that someone else was coming down to pay, and that I would be coming back anyway. She grabbed my left wrist and dug her nails into it. It hurt a lot, and I tried to pull away. I never expected such an aggressive attack. Terrible Belén!!!
