Playa Lucera - Fantastic 3 bedroom front line beach duplex apartment with open sea views from its 2 terraces between Fuengirola and Marbella - Costa del Sol - CS160

There are different types of houses here, and ours was big enough for a family of four or five, with two rooms, two toilets and a kitchen. I liked how the houses are set beside the grass and so close to the beach, and there's also a swimming pool. The neighbours were nice, mostly Spanish and British. There's security at night too. A really great place.

A lovely spot to relax by the sea, with beautiful views. The beach cafe had good food and cocktails, and the staff were friendly.

We've stayed twice and will be back. The apartment was great, and there are some nice local restaurants. The shops across the road are handy if you want to eat in, with local wine, fresh fish and salad available nearby. We had lovely weather, met friendly people, and found it convenient for buses and getting to other places. There's lots to do, including day trips. We booked two through the travel agent at Calypso and spent a day in Seville and a day in Ronda. Marbella and Malaga are easy enough to visit on your own too.

The magnificent views are partly hidden by overgrown trees and shrubs in the garden, which really needs work. Some of the iron railings are badly rusted and should be replaced. A cut from the rough railing could lead to septicaemia.
