Albergue Calanda

Pretty cool.

The town of Calanda was the most welcoming place I've ever visited, and staying here made for an unforgettable experience. The hostel has history in every hallway; wandering through it at night can even feel a little spooky, haha. It might be nice to put a bit of that history or some interesting facts in each room.

We found the room and bathroom clean, but the place is very basic, like a typical hostel. There's just one shared seating area. The kitchen and living room are private to one room, even though the door stayed open the whole time, and the shared space has no fridge or microwave. It feels more like a hostel than a guesthouse. There wasn't anyone at reception while we were there, and the main door is always open. For any communication, you have to use the phone number posted there. The price is reasonable, but the service doesn't match what other hostels provide.

It’s a small place with one bathroom shared between two rooms, and it’s part of a senior citizens' house. The staff were really friendly, and parking is right out front. There are two good restaurants about 500m away.
