Segeda Apartamentos

The manager did come to see what had gone wrong, and eventually gave us a larger apartment than the one we'd booked. But the stay was still frustrating. We were eight people and had reserved two apartments because we were told we wouldn't fit in one. We were annoyed they hadn't offered the larger apartment when we booked, or when we arrived if it had become available. If that third apartment hadn't been free, I'm not sure what would have happened. A discount or letting all of us stay in the larger place would have helped, but neither was offered. Getting the booking sorted was confusing, and because of the time we arrived, we couldn't access one apartment at first, even though nobody was there. Later, one apartment's door was unlocked despite the manager saying it was locked, and my calls about access didn't resolve it. That held up several of our plans. Worse, the door unlocked itself overnight even though we'd locked it properly. We woke to find it open, which left us feeling unsafe and worried someone could have entered and robbed us. The replacement apartment was a duplex with poor soundproofing, so we could hear everything. Some beds, according to my friends, shifted around and were very uncomfortable, though mine was fine. One bedroom had no blinds, so outside light came in. In the larger apartment, the sofas were dirty and had hard, sharp metal frames. The location near the station was about what we'd wanted, and the area itself wasn't bad, but there isn't much to do in Calatayud, so the tourist experience was disappointing too.

The apartment itself was new, but the sewage smell, dust that came up when we sat on the sofa, and useless Wi-Fi made the stay uncomfortable. There were no hangers, just two mugs and two glasses, so it didn't feel equipped for several days. We left a night early and wouldn't recommend it for a family stay longer than one night. We rented the Armantes apartment for two nights. I messaged them on WhatsApp in the morning about arriving early and asked whether we could get in if it hadn't been booked the previous night. They said that would be possible if it was free, and that key pickup was at the office across the street. But a sign at the office said they were working remotely, which they hadn't mentioned the day before. I had to call and wait 45 minutes for someone to come. If I'd known, I would've called while on the way. There were two double beds. One was in a bright room without blinds; the other had blinds, but was so noisy that the neighbors could hear whenever we shifted position.

We were four, exhausted after a trip, and had booked for four, but there was only a bed for three. Management didn't take responsibility or try to sort out a solution so nobody had to sleep on the floor. They also wouldn't give us complaint forms and showed very little interest in pleasing customers. Terrible management. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

A lovely apartment, spacious, clean, and well equipped. I recommend it to anyone passing through Calatayud who plans to spend a few days in this beautiful town.
