GHT Balmes, Hotel, Aparthotel & SPLASH

The location was close to everything, yet still quiet enough to relax. I stayed at Hotel Balmes in Calella last week and really enjoyed it. My room was bright and spacious, the bathroom was spotless, and the bed was so comfortable I didn't want to get up. The staff were friendly and professional, making me feel at home right away. It's a great spot for a quick getaway or a few days on the Catalan Coast. I'll definitely be back!

The pool area was cozy and nice, and I can see it being popular in summer. The location was good and quiet. I stayed five nights from late September into early October, and the staff were all friendly. Breakfast was tasty, with different things to choose from each day. The room was decent for the price. The TV was small and old, but that didn't bother us since we weren't there to watch it. The bathroom was fine, if a little dated, and the shower pressure was surprisingly strong. We slept fine in the beds. The air conditioning was the rough part: the room felt like a sauna during the day no matter what we did with the controls. At night it was really hot, then the coldest setting made it freezing and woke me up every night. We live in Finland without AC and have survived heatwaves, so sweating now and then wasn't new or shocking. For the price, the stay matched expectations, and I'd stay here again if I visit Calella.

The animator was the best part of the hotel. I think his name was Christopher, and he was absolutely great. We had so much fun! The pool was great too. Our room was a decent size, but in summer we really missed having a little fridge. The buffet could use more main-course choices, and drinks cost extra even with all-inclusive.

The children's entertainer, a Mauritian chap, was outstanding. He worked hard day and night to keep the kids involved and smiling, and he connected well with the parents too. Give that man a pay rise! The price was very reasonable, and the beach was just over a five-minute walk away. The main strip of shops and places to eat was five minutes on foot. The staff were excellent and friendly throughout.
