Hotel Haromar

My parents stayed here last week and came away very unhappy. They travel a lot and are capable, though they still have needs. At checkout, a woman at reception, an older Caucasian woman who may have been in her mid-60s, was especially rude and unprofessional. She wouldn't help them or answer their questions. I can't know whether racism or Islamophobia was involved, but her behaviour upset them and spoiled their stay. The hotel is well placed for the beach, but far from the main attractions. Staff weren't helpful in general either. Breakfast was continental but very limited, with no cut-up fruit, for example, and there were no dinner options for non-meat eaters or vegetarians.

Carles at reception was a real gentleman, and the bar staff were kind and friendly. One of them even put the awning out to help me feel comfortable. The pool area could use a good clean, though. There was just one socket in the bathroom and none in the room itself. Breakfast was very limited, and the stained tablecloths and strong bleach smell from cleaning made it feel unclean. The breakfast staff were rude, too. Housekeeping came into my room before 10 on both occasions, which I found unacceptable.

The front-facing rooms have great views, and the staff are charming and efficient. It’s a lovely traditional hotel, with spotlessly clean rooms and comfortable beds. The price is good, too. Breakfast was a bit strange, though, and there was no fridge in the room.

The bar is still a highlight, with a cosy feel and wonderful service from Cata. A special thank you to him for being so warm and friendly. He made our evenings and reminded us why we like returning to Haromar Hotel. We've stayed several times over the past few years, and the hospitality, facilities, and relaxed atmosphere have kept impressing me. Staff are courteous and attentive, and the rooms are spotless and cleaned daily. This visit, though, the food had gone downhill since our last stay. There was less choice, and it tasted bland. It's still a comfortable place I'd recommend, but the drop in food quality is disappointing if, like us, you remember how good it was in earlier years. I hope the hotel takes the feedback on board.
