Terramar

The food was delicious, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The bar had the usual all-inclusive cocktails. We stayed for two weeks and I'll definitely come back to Terramar hotel for another two-week holiday.

The pool was small but okay, though the spa pool wasn't working. There was no air conditioning, the rooms were basic and run down, and the beds were uncomfortable. The balcony offered no privacy, and another guest had belongings stolen. Food was cold at every meal, with the same dishes each day and little choice. Vegetarian options were basically cold pasta and tomato sauce. All-inclusive drinks and snacks were very limited. We were mugged on the hotel steps and the staff did nothing to help. The staff were mostly friendly otherwise, and the hotel is near the beach, but I wouldn't recommend staying here. Calella has lots of lovely places, and this isn't one of them.

We ended up paying for a private taxi to the airport at 2am after our transfer never showed. We hadn't received the transfer details 24 hours before departure as promised. We went to the meeting point earlier than the stated time, but nothing arrived. When we called, staff said there was nothing they could do and hadn't even tried, as far as we could tell. Their dismissive reaction and laughter were shocking. Staff were rude throughout, rolling their eyes when we asked for milk for coffee or ice in a drink. They shouted at children and kept telling them to “shhh.” There was no music or entertainment in the bar to make it feel welcoming. Our room was only cleaned once, and that was at 8pm one evening: they made one bed and changed the towels. There were no tea or coffee facilities, and we got just two bottles of water for the whole stay. At first the room looked okay, but the air conditioning was broken and leaked onto the floor, and the bathroom ceiling dripped, leaving the room damp and unpleasant. The food was just passable. The so-called snack bar was a plate behind the bar with a few cakes on it. Between the poor facilities, lack of cleanliness and hospitality, and the rude staff, the experience was dreadful and ruined our holiday. I would never stay at Hotel Terramar again. Definitely avoid.

For a last-minute all-inclusive package, it felt like you got what you paid for. I liked the meals, pool and bar, and the staff were very helpful. Although our room faced the back, it had a decent-sized balcony. The room was very clean and the towels were changed daily. The location in Callela is great, close to the beach and a short walk from the busy town centre. Highly recommended. Thank you.
