Apartment Topacio I Calpe/Calp

After 11 years staying at Apartamentos Topacio in Calpe, including Topacio 1, 2, 3, and 4, this year's apartment was easily the worst. We were put in Topacio 3, building 2, apartment 3, and it felt neglected and badly in need of renovation. Even getting in was a problem: the key wouldn't open the entrance. I called the Unitursa office, got a replacement, then waited five minutes for maintenance to bring another. Inside, the fridge barely worked. Food in the freezer didn't freeze properly, while soda cans and salads in the fridge froze solid. Parts were missing from the fridge door, so we couldn't use its shelves. The microwave plate wouldn't turn and food didn't heat. Cold water came out very slowly, but moving the tap slightly made it scalding hot. The living room chest was missing a drawer, a wardrobe had no door, and the washing machine was pretty disgusting. I used it just once, for a beach towel. There was also construction next door, with awful noise from 8 a.m. and dust covering the terrace chairs, table, and clothesline every day. On day two I asked Unitursa to move us because we had 18 days there and couldn't rest. They offered another building for €600 extra, or an apartment on the second line from the beach at the same price. We had paid for beachfront, even without air conditioning, so I turned those options down. I didn't keep reporting every problem. Was I supposed to sit in the apartment every day waiting for repairs? I wouldn't book with them again. There are other agencies and private owners. It's a shame after all these years.

That terrace is a 10/10, really spacious. The location is exceptional, and the apartment was generally good, though the bathroom felt small and the place needed more cleaning and upkeep. The bed was so hard that we had to improvise to get some rest.

The views and beachside location are great, but the apartment felt quite old. We stayed as a family in a large two-bedroom place with two terraces. It had a gas hob, and the tiny fridge barely cooled anything.

The beach is quiet, family-friendly, and has crystal-clear water, one of the best around. The location is spectacular, right by the beach, and the pool and shared areas were clean and well cared for. Our apartment was a different story, with poor cleanliness, furniture, and appliances. Still, we had a great vacation.
