Camping Calpemar

You can walk to the beach and central Calpe in just a few minutes, and there’s a supermarket right across the road. The pitches are all hard standing, with no natural grass, though pleasant bushes divide them. There isn’t much natural shade. Some pitches have shade cloth, but we were told the one over our preferred spot couldn’t be put up until the next week, so we picked a different one. The Wi-Fi works very well, and the modern showers have strong pressure and plenty of hot water.

The site is a good base, about a five-minute walk from the beach, and we found the week-long Easter rate reasonable. I rented a bungalow for my parents while my wife, children and I stayed in our van on a pitch. Everything was spotless, the staff were friendly, and the facilities felt up to date. Calpe is a great place to visit, and nearby villages such as Altea and Moraia are worth seeing too.

Showers were plentiful for a site this size, with lots of hot water, and laundry costs 4€, which seems fair. Reception was efficient, and a helpful woman there led us to our plot. There was plenty of room, though getting onto it was a little tricky. From the reception team to the grounds crew, the place is run very professionally. Shops, restaurants and the beach are all close by. I’d happily stay here again.

The site is small and friendly, though urban sprawl surrounds it. It’s roughly ten minutes to the promenade and the restaurants and bars there. Calpe Old Town is lovely and well worth seeing. This was our first visit, and we’re already thinking we’ll return. The staff were great, too.
