It’s hard these days to find a motorhome pitch that isn’t already full, so booking ahead is essential. No reservation means no pitch. The campsite is still clean and well looked after, with cheerful staff who are always ready to help. It’s handy for the beach, about 100 metres away, and town is a short walk. The problem is the construction beside it: just 20 metres away, where the brilliant original Camping Austral used to be, three apartment blocks are going up. There’s the usual noise, dust, heavy machinery and huge cranes. Such a shame, though I suppose that’s progress. We may not come back, but we have lots of lovely memories from past trips with our fellow motorhomers. Safe travels, everyone 😊

We’ve stayed here twice now, and on this visit we were the first guests on the new section. The pitches are large and the shower block is lovely and new. There’s a nice pool in the original section. The one downside is the fun fair right next door, so the noise at night is easy to imagine.

A handy campsite for the beach and the restaurants around Calpe town, with pitches that are big enough. Reception was efficient, and the toilets and showers were clean. The shower cubicles are a bit cramped, though, and the water temperature sometimes changed. I’d come back.

We liked the location enough to extend our stay and would use the site again. We turned up without a booking but managed to find a pitch. The receptionist wasn’t particularly friendly, but never mind. The pitches are spacious. Park4night listed 13€, but it was actually 20€ a night, plus 1€ for our dog. The washing machines were great: 5€ per load, with detergent and softener included.

A spotless, lovely campsite, and the staff were very helpful. We’ll definitely return.
