ESTIMAR Calpe Suitopia

The room was spacious and spotless, with a lovely view, and the hotel is close to both the beach and the centre. Breakfast had plenty of choice, including fresh eggs cooked how you like them. The heated pool was a hit with our baby, and the towel service and pool bar with tasty cocktails were great too. Staff were so friendly, and we’d recommend the hotel to families visiting Calp. We got a little welcome basket for the baby with shower gel and shampoo, and I bought the octopus as a keepsake from our baby’s first holiday in a superior hotel. Just perfect.

We’ve been back to our favourite Calpe hotel for the sixth time. The rooms, balconies, housekeeping and location are still great, and I hope the issues I mention get sorted before our next visit. The hotel seemed much busier this year, with far more English guests, perhaps because Jet2holidays has added it to its programme. The clientele felt different from previous years. Our Chromecast wouldn’t connect and the technicians couldn’t get it working, so once again there were no Dutch TV channels. The standard channels were mostly English, German and Spanish. That’s a letdown for a luxury hotel, especially with Dutch guests staying, and it seems like it should be easy to fix. The coffee cups still aren’t sold in the supermarket, and the new Illy machine is disappointing. I’d rather they’d kept the Nespresso one. Evening entertainment for adults was almost nonexistent apart from a DJ at the sky bar, with no singer or performer in the lobby.

The breakfast was superb, with a huge selection. Our room had a great view and was cleaned to a high standard every day. Staff were friendly and attentive throughout. A fantastic stay.

We had a hob and a full fridge freezer in our room, though I can’t say if every room has them. The hotel is well located for the beach and town, and the prices are sensible. Fantastic place.
