Port Europa Hotel

The hotel itself was good, with a big balcony, and it’s near the water. Breakfast was really good, though dinner depended on the day. On my last night eating there, I had a fried chicken burger that was fire. But the utensils, plates, and glasses weren’t washed properly. My sister got three cups with lipstick stains on three different days. I think they should wash them more carefully. I also wondered why the toilet door had no lock, while the main door to the hotel room did. Is that normal in Spain? Gracias Espaina, Calpe.

The staff were eager to help and the service was really good. We had full board, with wine and water included, and there was a good range of well-prepared, nicely presented food each day. Our spacious apartment had a large bedroom, a lovely bathroom with both a bath and shower, plus a large kitchen and living area with a second TV. The seafront is right across the road, with a lovely walk along it to the lively town centre. I could leave my car in the large, secure underground parking area for an additional cost. We really enjoyed our stay and plan to return this coming year.

Dinner was disappointing, with limited choice and poor quality, so we ate at a local restaurant on our second night. Breakfast was nice and had plenty of options. The hotel was easy to check in and out of, and reception staff were friendly. We travelled with friends and got the top two rooms, which had amazing views, large balconies, and sun loungers. The bathroom was spacious with an excellent hot shower, and there was a large, comfortable bed with lots of wardrobe and storage space. There was a modern TV and a safe, but no kettle or cups. We brought our own, so that was fine. We did hear some night noise, especially from the lift. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay and would return, but only with bed and breakfast.

The hotel had a homely feel, and we’d certainly visit again. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and every staff member, from reception to room service and the restaurant, was friendly and helpful. I can’t see why it’s rated four stars when I think it deserves five. Thank you all for making us feel welcome.
