RH Ifach Family Hotel

It was family-friendly and quiet, and people were respectful about the sunbeds, with no silly hogging. I'm vegetarian, and there were good veggie choices like veggie chilli. The hotel was clean and the facilities were good. Big thanks to jeorge from the Animation team. When I had a mini panic on the steep mountain walk, he took me under his wing and helped me all the way :-) We had a great time.

The location is very good, close to the beach and flamingo lake. Food was good quality, and the indoor pool was lovely and warm. There's a decent gym as well, though the outdoor pool isn't heated. The beds were comfortable, 4ft wide each, and the rooms were cleaned really well every day.

We had a nice week and wouldn't mind staying here again if we return to Calp. It was well placed for us, close to a small harbour and two beaches with a long boardwalk. Three buses stop nearby, or you can walk about 2km to the old town. The staff gave great service, the room was spacious with a nice view, and the buffet had plenty to choose from. The outdoor pool was too cold for us, but we enjoyed the heated indoor one. There were lots of sunbeds outside.

We only stayed one night, so I can't really say what the usual guests are like. It did feel busy, with people queuing and rushing at both breakfast and dinner. We went about an hour before dinner closed, and the food was still being replenished. Everything we tried was excellent. We considered eating there but chose to go out after looking at the menu. It seemed like a classic hotel dinner, with a meat selection and probably fish too, so we'd likely have eaten well there. The hotel has quite a stylish feel, and the rooms are spacious with balconies. Breakfast was very good. We also used the indoor pool. Nobody asked us to wear swimming caps, but there wasn't a proper place to change or store clothes, so we left our things on a bench by the pool.
