Villa Merced

We had a good sized pitch for our 7.5 metre van, with plenty of shade as well as sunny spots. It’s a laid-back, friendly place in a nice, quiet residential area, away from the main seafront but still close enough. The facilities were good: clean toilets, very hot showers with a strong flow, and a good wash-up area. It’s not a site with every possible extra, but it feels homely and the pitches are spacious. Prices were reasonable when we visited in low season, and the bar was open during reception hours. There’s an easy walk to a bar, pizzeria, and Aldi at the bottom of the road, and the beach is a little further on. Cycle paths outside the site lead towards town and the beach.

The fresh bread delivered each morning was a great bonus. The young man handling maintenance worked hard to keep everything in great condition, always with a smile and a friendly word. We got a warm welcome from the helpful staff, and it’s well placed for beaches, shops, and restaurants. A wonderful campsite. We’d recommend visiting and will be back.

We spent seven weeks here in winter 2024-25, and it was quite pleasant, especially because of the location and the people staying there. There was a great neighborly atmosphere. The one thing that made no sense was the soap policy in the toilets and shower rooms: if someone forgot their soap, staff threw it away. Why not let the next of 100 people who forget theirs use it? We can manage that and benefit from it. How many people avoid campsites because they see others leaving the toilets without washing their hands?

It’s peaceful and clean, with a relaxing feel. The location is central, and the beautiful beach is a comfortable 20-minute walk away.
