Villas del Mar

The location was perfect, with lots of lovely restaurants nearby and the beach only five minutes away. The old town is up a hill, so we took a taxi for 6 euros. Our spacious three-bedroom apartment was attached to the hotel, and we could use all its facilities. The infinity pool and beach club were lovely.

The place itself was just right, and the location worked perfectly. There are two gorgeous pools, one up on the roof and another across the road, both with sun loungers and towels. I only wish there had been more cleaning supplies, since they charge a cleaning fee and we wanted to keep the apartment tidy.

There are loads of supermarkets and restaurants nearby, and the beach is long and clean. It’s a beautiful spot, and climbing the rock is a fun thing to do.

I was moved to a much bigger apartment than expected, with loads of space and everything we needed. The balcony was great too. It didn't face the beach, but you could see both the mountains and the sea. The place is right in the middle of Calpe, with shops, bars, restaurants and the beach just outside. What knocked off a star was finding out that Gran Hotel SolyMar, which the apartments are attached to, had closed the day before I arrived. Booking.com didn't show that when I booked, and I couldn't find it on the SolyMar website either. I booked directly with Grupo SolyMar, and they did tell me about the closure and the Covid changes before the cancellation deadline.
