Pensio l'Avi Pep

The host who checked us into the room was kind and helpful, but breakfast was a frustrating experience with two young children in tow. The women working there didn’t greet us or try to help us order, and we were left standing at the bar. They seemed to prioritize locals over hotel guests. With no one able to explain the menu in English, we couldn’t work out what was what and ended up having to travel elsewhere to get breakfast for the family. For a hotel welcoming visitors from far away, I’d have expected at least a little broken English, since English is spoken so widely. The rooms are adequate for a stopover, but there’s no air conditioning. You’re given a fan that just moves the hot air around.

There’s a big free car park in this tiny village, and they always have a room for the night if you need one. I’ve always had excellent service here, and they bring a free salad before you order. Just say “si” when you hear “ensalada.” The waiters are friendly, especially the men, for once! Try the local Fideua to start. It’s a great lunch stop between Cadaques / Roses etc and Barcelona.

We had excellent food here, and it’s a great restaurant for a big group.

The best bravas, cheese cake, and Oreo cakes in the world!
