Lo Racó de Peret

The apartment is laid out in a quirky, appealing way, with decor I loved, and there’s plenty of room for a wheelchair. The grounds are spacious and relaxing. The entrance we were given was at the rear of the grounds, so I notified Google Maps. It is narrow. I’d definitely recommend the place, no complaints 😀

The pool photo didn’t match what we found, and its ramp was so slippery that I fell. There was no light in the bathroom, and nobody came to fix it while we were there. Cleaning seemed only surface-level: under the kitchen sink were a champagne bottle and pill wrappers on the floor, apparently left by the previous owners. Otherwise, it was fine.

The pool area is pleasant, though it isn't near the cottage. Inside, the place was clean and comfortable, and the air conditioning worked well. But the apartment had hardly any cooking equipment, and there was no private terrace. The shared areas were very dirty, with overflowing bins. Outside, a bad smell made eating outdoors impossible, and heavy traffic came through despite the poor soundproofing. We also had lots of power cuts. The village was deserted, though that isn't the hotelier's fault. For what you get, the price is much too high. It wasn't all bad, but still far too expensive.

The apartment was very clean, the bedding was decent, and the air conditioning did its job. Even so, we were disappointed by our family stay at Raco de Peret, and I don't really understand all the positive reviews. The price felt completely out of line with the location and facilities. Camarles felt dreary and soulless. The pool area is quite charming, but it's 300 meters from the apartments, inside a fenced area that also functions as a car park. You need to bring the keys to get in, which is inconvenient. The pool itself looks nice, but at just 1 meter deep and quite small, it's only good for cooling off. The shared outdoor dining space wasn't very clean or inviting, and it's right beside the bins. Traffic was heavy, so there wasn't much peace and quiet. A strong, unpleasant smell came and went; one evening and one morning it was impossible to eat outside. One evening the electricity went out about ten times, which was a real nuisance. The apartment was short on basics too, not even teaspoons.
