Coastal Charm in Tarragona

It’s a lovely two-minute walk to the beach, or about half an hour on foot into Cambrils centre. Cycle paths go all the way there too. The site isn’t cheap, but at €44 a night it felt worth it for the location and the chance to get a large pitch. We booked an XL pitch for our 8-metre vehicle. It was level and roomy enough that we didn’t need ramps. Some of the premium pitches nearby are also a good size for larger motorhomes. There’s a pool, restaurant and supermarket, plus all the usual water and waste facilities. Toilets and showers were spotless. Toilet paper is in dispensers on the walls rather than inside the cubicles. We got a warm welcome at reception. I’d recommend the site and would stay again.

A quiet, secure campsite very close to the beach. The staff were attentive and ready to sort out any problems during our stay. Highly recommended.

This is a big family campsite with a pool and what looked like plenty for children to do. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the shower blocks were clean. It’s fairly close to the beach. The pitches are shaded by trees and separated from each other, which I imagine is nice in summer. On a rainy October day, though, they felt rather dark. They were also a bit small and arranged in long, regimented rows. It wasn’t really my kind of place, and neither was Cambrils. If you do go, the bus service is excellent. Ten rides on a prepaid card cost €10.50.

The site felt too large, with vehicles constantly passing the pitches and no privacy because of the layout. The showers were disappointing too: nowhere to sit or put clothes, and the water barely got warm.
