Relaxing Cambrils Escape

We were there at the end of September, when it was still busy, but the campsite had a really calm feel. The staff were all friendly and the grounds were spotless. It’s easy to get to the beach, and the port is a short bike ride away, with plenty of bars, restaurants and shops. There are good cycle paths too. We had a great stay.

The pitches felt spacious and nicely set apart. It’s also well placed for walking to the beach, promenade, harbour and nearby facilities. I didn’t use the washrooms, so can’t comment on them.

The location worked well for us, close to both Cambrils and the beach, and the prices were competitive. There’s no fuss, but everything you need is there: a great pool for kids and a nicely updated bar area. The place is well organised and has a friendly, family-run feel. They put real effort into activities, even in September, which we appreciated since some kids don’t go back to school until mid-September. It kept the summer atmosphere going. The Ricoras show was a big hit. A couple of things could be better: the patates braves and Sangria recipes, and some toilets, bathrooms and dishwashing areas could use improvement. At the very least, the showers need better water temperature control.

We couldn’t sleep because water ran down into our pitch and stank. There were also pyrotechnic bangs every 30 seconds until after midnight, and the garbage crew came in the early hours, making a lot of noise and smell while emptying and washing the bins. Dishwashing water was cold, and signs to the exit were poor or missing. Watch out for low tree branches, too. This was the worst campsite we’ve ever stayed at, and extremely overpriced. They expected guests to wear identity wristbands, which we refused. The place had a bad atmosphere generally. I’d never recommend it unless you love fairgrounds.
