Ruleta Augustus

We had a lovely family stay at the Augustus Hotel in Cambrils, Spain, in April. The staff were always kind and helpful, and the hotel was clean and well maintained. The food was one of the best parts, with plenty of different choices each day so everyone could find something they liked. My daughters enjoyed the kids' pool even though the water was a little cold. The staff were especially welcoming with children, and the evening activities kept them happy and excited. There was live music, magic shows, and other entertainment every night. One thing that bothered me was seeing some guests waste buffet food without considering the staff or all the work that goes into providing it. That wasn't the hotel's fault. I won't go into every detail, but I'd definitely recommend this hotel to families looking for a fun, comfortable vacation.

I got in early in the evening and was given a room beside the lifts on the first floor. It was quite spacious, but extremely loud. When I told reception, they moved me straight away to a quieter room, and were really pleasant about it, no drama at all. I'll come back. The pool area, public toilets, and restaurants were all very clean. The bar staff were friendly, and housekeeping did an excellent job. I've worked in hotels all my life, and it was great to see guests being looked after so well. Thank you all for such a pleasant stay.

The kids' room was disappointing, since all the games except the pool table were broken. The entertainment was good, though. We were about equally far from Cambrils and Salou, and bikes were available to rent for 10 a day. There was only one socket in the room. The hotel is right on a beautiful beach. Our room was good and clean, and breakfast was very good too, with an omelette counter where you could order one made fresh.

From the start, everything in the room was ready for us. It was spotless and had a fridge, a safe, plenty of closet space, and two really comfortable beds. The TV, toilet, shower, and air conditioning all worked perfectly. Housekeeping cleaned every day, so the room stayed fresh. There were four of us, so we asked for extra towels, and they brought them right away. One downside was the noise from outside, people walking past at night and cars going by. It isn't fully soundproof, though we got used to it after the first night. The food at Augustus Hotel was the best I've had at any hotel, and I've never written a hotel review before, but had to for this one. The menu changed daily, with different fish and chicken dishes, fresh vegetables, and lots of variety. The desserts were full of flavour, never bland, and all delicious. There were different ice cream flavours each day too. The staff were amazing, always greeting me with smiles in the food line, and many of the waiters made a point of welcoming me. The only catch was that drinks weren't included with full board, only with breakfast. Even so, the food was a solid 10 out of 10, fresh, varied, and perfectly done. There was so much to do nearby, though I didn't explore everything. The hotel had a small area with zines and boards with information about local attractions. The beach was right across the road, spacious and not too crowded, and the pool was even bigger than the online photos. There were performances, discos, and shows for adults and kids every night. Paid parking right next door was convenient, and there were plenty of restaurants and supermarkets nearby if you didn't want to eat at the hotel. Salou center was close, and Cambrils was a few minutes away by car. I also liked how they managed the sunbeds. Security and lifeguards regularly patrolled and removed towels left on loungers with nobody there, so it felt fair and organized. The location made it easy to get around, and we had a wonderful stay.
