Breakfast was a highlight, especially the toast, which they make in a pan. I've never had better, and the homemade jams were great too. The setting is beautiful and wonderfully peaceful, with a memorable historic place to stay, including its own very old church. Amazing value. Highly recommend.
Set among gorgeous mountains, this idyllic hotel feels like visiting family because the hosts are so warm and friendly.
The garden is beautifully kept, and the views from the rooms are a treat. At night you can hear the owls, which made the stay feel special. This old manor house has plenty of character and transports you to another time. The rooms aren't especially modern and are fairly basic, but they have what matters: a comfortable bed with freshly ironed sheets, good heating, and a shower with plenty of hot water. The owners are an older couple with a lot of experience, and they were attentive and gave us excellent recommendations. A special hotel in an incredible location. We'll be back.
We had a very peaceful, pleasant two-night stay in one of the apartments run by the same company as the hotel. The couple who looked after us were very friendly. Everything was simple, clean, and fine, though the mattresses are quite old and should be replaced.
The narrow access road made it difficult to get our motorhome into the hotel parking area. The rooms could also use air conditioning, since it was very hot, and the place needs updating and a bit more cleaning. Still, we liked the location, with its lovely garden and views. The owner, a very friendly elderly man, told us the house was built by the Viceroy of the Philippines. He said it was expropriated and looted during the war, and that he bought it 35 years ago and turned it into the hotel it is today. The place has a lot of charm.
