Finca Can Formatge

The ants were the biggest nuisance. They find even a single crumb in seconds, including inside, so everything needs to be put away and sealed. Sponges and cloths need regular replacing, and taking the trash to the recycling center on campus ourselves was annoying with all the plastic waste. The water has a lot of limescale, so still water from a 5-liter bottle works best for coffee. There's also a farm about 300 meters away, and now and then a smell drifts over, though it's quite tolerable. We stayed two weekends with our children, aged 8 and 12, and really enjoyed our stay. The place is clean and spacious. Downstairs there's a sitting area, sofa, TV, kitchen, and shower and toilet. Upstairs are two very large air-conditioned bedrooms, one with a baby cot, plus a big bathroom with a bathtub. They provide bed linen, extra blankets, and two towels per person, but towels aren't changed. Bring your own pool towels. The pool is about 8 x 4 meters and big enough for swimming laps. Outside are two barbecue spots and a pizza and bread oven. The pool area also connects to a separate room with a shower, toilet, washing machine, parasol, and other things. There are four very productive lemon trees in the garden, and you can use the fruit. The finca is at the end of a cul-de-sac, very secluded. Shops and services including Aldi, Lidl, Mercadona, Eroski, a gas station, Müller, and pharmacies are a 15-minute drive away. Es Trance and Colonia de Sant Jordi are also about 15 minutes away.

A rental car is essential, but Campos has great shopping and the beaches are nearby. We found EVERYTHING we needed for a relaxing holiday in this finca, with every comfort for four people. It's a quieter side of Mallorca, away from the party scene and tourist bustle. We'll be back.
