Hostal Ca'n Pep

The room was very clean and spacious, with plenty of towels, a sea-view balcony, thick curtains, and an AC that worked well. It was cleaned daily. The walls are very thin, though, so you can hear everything. Reception isn’t available late, which made checking in difficult. They live in the opposite building, so we had to call several times before someone answered and gave us our keys. Restaurants and cafes are very close, and parking just outside the building was easy.

The ocean was always in sight, and EsTrenc beach is just around the corner, so the location was a real highlight. We had a lovely balcony overlooking the water, plus air conditioning in the room. It was simple, but roomy and clean, with comfortable beds and daily housekeeping. Breakfast was great too, with Spanish ham and fresh orange juice. A relaxing stay.

We spent five nights at Hostal Ca’n Pep as a family of five, split between two rooms. It’s a modest but lovely place, and I’d recommend it for smaller groups or anyone happy to have separate rooms. Sa Rapita is a quiet town, so don’t expect much going on late at night. We enjoyed that slower pace as a family. The beds were among the best of the four places we stayed in Mallorca, and we slept really well. The rooms are air-conditioned, which the kids loved, and the interior decor and room quality were surprisingly nice. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The hostel is near the shore and sits in the middle of town. The coast there is rocky but reachable, and there’s a large man-made ramp about 500 metres away for getting into the sea. Sandy beaches are around a 1.2 km walk, with plenty of grocery stores close by. There’s no fridge or kettle, the WiFi was slow at times, and there’s no pool. There’s no TV either, which I actually thought was a good thing.

The room was spotless, the mattress was good, and they changed the towels often. But mine had no air conditioning, and I don’t know whether any of the rooms do. Mallorca gets really hot in summer, day and night, so I definitely wouldn’t book a room without AC then.
