We really enjoyed our stay at Vall de Campordon. The setting among forests and mountains is wonderful, and there was everything we needed for comfortable camping.

The pitches are large, and getting a motorhome in is reasonably easy. There were plenty of free spaces in early June. Staff were very helpful, and English and French are spoken. The restaurant offers local food, wine and beer at reasonable prices.

We stayed for two nights at the end of March, three of us, a couple and our 6-year-old. The sustainable camping's luxury lodge, a bungalow suite, was extra clean and warm despite the cold outside. It had a hot shower with good pressure, a 30cm mattress and a nice Nordic blanket. Our child painted mandalas with other kids, which gave us a chance to nap, and we all fed the animals at the camp-free farm. On Saturday we biked from Ripoll to Sant Joan de les Abadesses and back along a beautiful 10km route each way through forest, with a tunnel at a 1% slope and lots of bridges. Sunday was for skiing at Vallter, 30' away. Thanks to the late checkout at 17:00, we still had time to grab something to eat and take a hot shower. I'll definitely return in summer to check out the swimming pool and other activities!

The Xalet was cozy and quiet, and the place is close to Camprodon town proper, with supermarkets and stores nearby. It's a quaint, pretty little town. There are game and activity rooms, a small farm and pool installations, making it a nice spot for kids.

I loved staying at this very good camping. There are lots of beautiful walks and a river close by, plus plenty of playgrounds and a great animal farm for kids.
